My entry for 's contest! Which is to design a pokemon's new evolution using king's rock. I choose a Spiritomb as my starting poke to evolve.

Cryptom (Crypt and Phantom)
The poltergeist pokemon
Height- 8'1"
Weight - 216.7 Lbs (Yes, it decreases weight)
Type- Ghost / Dark
Ability - Levitate
Diet- None, said to devour souls
Gender Differences- Female Cryptoms have more frill and ruffle around their chest adornments, as well as small orbs frilling the bottom of their capes.
Gender Ratio- 50/50%

Behavior - Cryptoms are nasty creatures with a high conceded regard for themselves and themselves only, and with this they are very prideful, often wallowing in their own narcissism (This can be used to an advantage however, seeing as if you flatter one enough, they can grow fond of you). They also tend to be tricksters, and love to play often cruel jokes upon humans and other pokemon, especially ones with weaker levels that they can bully around. One case has even seen a Cryptom who enslaved a group of clefairy, Tyrogue, and Riolu, all notably pokemon who's type dosen't effect Cryptom's.
With this they are also mean spirited creatures, and are often vengeful and downright unpleasant to be around when angered or simply bored. They seem to take amusement from others discomfort, and tend to be extremely difficult pokemon to train, having a tendency to simply just leave unless restrained.

Desc- Cryptom uses the 108 spirits caught by its previous form (Spiritomb) to generate ectoplasmic power. The glowing orbs that circle its body are pods of these spirits, and when finding a victim, Cryptom extends these pods to capture yet more souls to further power itself. Because of this and its high status, this ghost pokemon is regarded as a king by all fellow ghosts, and is often reviered as a diety of the dead by humans. But because of the chains making up part of its body, it can never fully depart this world and return to the spirit world, where it would truly rule as a king of kings.

-Specialty Attacks (Cryptom Only)

~Ghost Shriek - (Ghost, Spc atk: 80) This is a strong attack in which Cryptom lets loose a deafening shreik at the foe that can do medium-heavy damage to a foe, and can sometimes inflict confusion or paralization.

~Spirit Punch - (Ghost, Atk: 60) An elemental punch taken to a new level, like its sister move the shadow punch this is an attack that never misses, but can only be preformed by final evolution ghost pokemon.

~Shadow Wield- (dark, Spc Atk: 120) A high powered dark type move in which Cryptom takes over any shadows within the area and uses them to attack the opposing enemy.

~Dark Mind - (dark, Spc Atk: -- ) A weak attack that gradually drains an opponents HP by seeding a small thought of doubt into a pokemon's mind. This can increase as a battle goes on, going so far as to be a near poison like attack.

Some info while i was coming up with this fellow.

I tried to make it as stately and kingly as possible, thinking how high class ones tend to dress, especally in the earlier years where monarchs ruled. So the big things sticking out from his head are ment to be the spires of a crown, with the orbs floating around it to be the 'jewels' of the crown. Then the big thing on his neck'chest is supposed to be one of those fancy shirt ruffles, then the front of a frilled shirt. Then in back a cape, because all stately ones need a cape. Then at last a monocle with the little swirly dealey that spiritomb had.

The arms were hard, I didnt want to do just normal floating hands, it would be to much like a haunter, and not spiritomb enough. So when i was thinking about spiritomb, it was bound and stuff to its little rocky thinger, and i wanted to mime that in this guy. So thus they became chains, the color was a PAIN, i mean i sat for a good half hour just thinking 'chain grey or green...grey or green...grey...green?' and eventually i choose green because i really didnt want to bring in another color, it would be to distracting on him, and the green is just cooler X3
